Because “biodegradable” is commonly understood as “breaks down quickly anywhere.” That’s not a claim we make. Our wording is narrower: polyamide fiber engineered for enhanced decomposition, with specific testing methods and a defined scope.

It means the polymer is engineered so that, under specific conditions, it is designed to break down more than conventional polyamide. It does not mean a garment vanishes, and it does not change how it should be disposed of.

Supplier states testing follows ASTM D5511 and ASTM D6691 methods. We describe the technology within the supplier’s stated marine context and do not claim results for rivers, lakes, soil, or other environments unless verified.
